Evening in July

 We have a heatwave in the UK and there's a breeze in Hastings so the weather has been glorious.

Roses and gernaiums shed bright red petals on to the veranda. There is tennis at Wimbledon with strawberries & cream (apparently they've attempted strawberry sandwiches this year but without much success) and people are splashing about in the sea.

All this while the US cracks apart and the danger of civil war increases, while people queuing for food in Gaza get shot and Russia keeps on bombing the Ukraine. Misery beyond belief in so many places.

Here it is peaceful .....  for now.
